A Glimpse into Sooraj's Journey
Sooraj joined the firm as staff in 2014 and has spent the majority of his professional accounting career serving on the VSH CPAs team. These days, as the firm’s Business Advisory Manager, Sooraj advises businessowners in a variety of areas, including budgets, cash flow, controller-level services, forensic accounting, ad hoc consulting/projects, and more. He also specializes in consulting, business transition planning, and business valuations. Sooraj works primarily with clients in the professional services, dental, IT, retail, real estate and restaurant sectors. Prior to joining VSH CPAs, Sooraj spent a year gaining experience in the banking and finance industry, which translated well into his work in the accounting field. In 2019, Sooraj served as the Controller & Finance Manager for a food manufacturing company. It gave him great insight into how best to approach solutions from the client’s perspective.
Clients and coworkers alike appreciate Sooraj for his friendliness and willingness to help. He is the sort of professional who is willing to jump in whenever he sees a need. For example, in the wake of new legislation in response to the coronavirus pandemic, Sooraj became an expert in helping clients navigate the Paycheck Protection Program, the Economic Injury Disaster Loans program, the Employee Retention Tax Credit, and more. When it comes to client service, Sooraj’s personal philosophy is straight forward: treat his clients how he would want to be treated.
Sooraj was born in Delta, British Columbia—a city on the outskirts of Vancouver (Canada)—but his entire family moved to Whatcom County in 2001. He and his wife currently live in Blaine with their two daughters. Sooraj and his family enjoy taking walks together and spending time in parks. Additionally, Sooraj likes to travel and both play and watch many sports.
