Lloyd Sandquist

Lloyd Sandquist is the Director of Assurance Services at VSH CPAs, where he brings over 36 years of public accounting experience to the firm’s audit and assurance practice. He leads the department with a focus on accuracy, integrity, and developing strong teams. Lloyd works closely with privately held companies and employee benefit plans, helping them meet their financial reporting needs with clarity and confidence. His experience spans a wide range of industries and business types, allowing him to offer thoughtful, well-informed guidance that reflects both technical depth and practical understanding.

Lloyd earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Finance from the University of Washington. He began his career in private industry before transitioning into public accounting—a move that allowed him to combine his analytical strengths with a passion for helping businesses thrive. Over the years, he has worked in a variety of firm environments, from Big 4 and national firms to local practices, serving clients ranging from SEC filers to small, closely held companies.

He also served as a director for a U.S. subsidiary of a foreign corporation, giving him firsthand insight into international operations. Since joining VSH, Lloyd has continued to focus on delivering high-quality work while mentoring the next generation of assurance professionals.

Lloyd’s approach begins with understanding how a client’s business operates and how it accounts for those operations. He values open, honest communication and believes in building strong, long-term relationships rooted in trust. For Lloyd, client success means delivering excellent work, on time and on budget, while helping clients feel supported and informed throughout the process.

Outside of work, Lloyd enjoys traveling. He especially enjoys traveling internationally to explore history and experience different cultures. He plays competitive league tennis several times a week and has competed in national championships three times. Lloyd has been married for over 30 years and is the proud father of two adult children.
