Olivia Hanson

Olivia Hanson, CPA, is a Senior Tax Accountant at VSH CPAs, where she works with to help business owners navigate tax planning, compliance, and advisory matters. She prepares and reviews tax returns, researches complex tax issues, assists with mergers and acquisitions, and provides strategic guidance to help clients make informed financial decisions. Olivia also enjoys staying current on changes in tax law and sharing insights with her colleagues.

What Olivia appreciates most about public accounting is that no two clients are exactly alike. She thrives on solving complex tax and accounting issues, particularly for businesses in the construction and manufacturing industries, where each engagement presents new opportunities to learn, collaborate, and help clients move forward with confidence.

Olivia discovered her passion for accounting through her love of logic, research, and problem-solving. While studying accounting at Western Washington University, she found herself especially drawn to tax research and technical memo writing, an interest that ultimately led her to a career in public accounting.

After graduation, Olivia began her career in public accounting before spending a year in an internal accounting role to broaden her perspective. While the experience strengthened her understanding of business operations, she realized she missed the variety, technical challenges, and client interaction that public accounting provides. She joined VSH in 2026 and has enjoyed returning to a collaborative environment where every day brings a new opportunity to help clients solve complex problems.

Earning her CPA license remains one of Olivia's proudest professional accomplishments. She also finds great satisfaction in her transition to a more client-facing role, where she partners directly with business owners on advisory projects that require thoughtful analysis and practical solutions.

Olivia believes the best client relationships are built on communication, trust, and education. She enjoys helping clients understand the reasoning behind recommendations so they can confidently make decisions for themselves and their businesses.

Whether answering questions, navigating technical tax issues, or identifying opportunities for improvement, Olivia strives to be a trusted resource clients can rely on. For her, success means providing clarity, simplifying complex concepts, and giving clients the confidence to move forward with informed decisions.

Outside of work, Olivia enjoys exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. Having lived in Germany, France, and the United States, she developed an early appreciation for travel and discovering new perspectives. She also enjoys trying new restaurants, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and working on creative craft projects.

Olivia was recently married and loves spending time with her husband and their two cats, Moose and Graycie. One of her favorite roles outside of work is being an auntie.
