VSH Welcomes New Partner, Another Retires
Matt Roetcisoender, CPA, CVA, has been named a partner with VSH Certified Public Accountants (VSH) effective 1/1/2022.
Matt started his public accounting career in 2011 and was with two other firms before joining VSH in 2017. He supports business owners with a range of services including mergers and acquisitions, funding, family transitions, and business valuations primarily in the agriculture, manufacturing, construction, and real estate sectors.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (WSCPA), The National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA), the Economic Development Alliance of Skagit County (EDASC) and the Skagit Rotary. In addition to being a CPA, Matt is a Certified Valuation Analyst. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and his master of professional accountancy from Central Washington University.
“We are pleased to announce Matt’s promotion to partner,” said VSH CEO Jessica Waggoner, adding that Matt’s experience and enthusiasm will be invaluable as the firm helps its clients achieve their goals.
“I look forward to being part of the VSH partner group,” Matt said. “The other partners have been very gracious in giving me the opportunity to grow and develop as a CPA and trusted advisor. Creating these opportunities for staff development and building a strong team is important to providing an exceptional client experience and growing our firm. I am committed to providing these same opportunities to the next generation.”
A native of Skagit County, Matt lives in Burlington with his wife and three daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family as well as pursuing his two favorite hobbies: hiking and crabbing.
VSH also announces the retirement of partner Mark Roetcisoender, CPA. Mark began his career nearly 45 years ago after graduating from the University of Washington. He joined VSH in 2015 and has been a leader in the firm’s growth and development.
Mark has provided his clients with financial statement and tax services, as well as estate planning, succession and exit strategies, and proactive tax planning for clients in agriculture, manufacturing, fishing, food services, professional services, real estate and health care. As he transitions into retirement, he will still be available to consult with his clients.
“I will definitely miss the regular interaction with my clients and helping them solve their business problems,” Mark said, “but I look forward to having more time for duck hunting, boating and, most importantly, spending time with my grandchildren.”
“We will miss Mark’s leadership and his sense of humor,” said Waggoner. “The entire firm wishes him luck as he begins this next chapter of his life,” she continued.
